Also not included is a live Bruce cover excluded from the live album release.
Also not included are covers that were initially not released but showed up later on an album, like the David Bowie covers.
Additions and corrections are welcome.

GARY-US-BONDS - ACTION IN THE STREET
                                  LION'S DEN
                                  SAVIN' UP

-  Bonds' recorded these 3 songs for his On The Line (1982) album.  Bonds' recorded 10 Bruce songs total for the album with these 3 left off.
-  Bruce included "Lion's Dan" on Tracks (1998).
-  "Savin' Up" was recorded by Clarence Clemons & included on his 1st solo album Rescue (1983).
-  "Action In The Street" remains unreleased.
-  Bonds' earlier released 3 different Bruce songs on his Dedication (1981) album.

   BETTE MIDLER - PINK CADILLAC

-  Ms Midler recorded "Pink Cadillac" for her No Frills (1983) album.  The song was introduced to her by Chuck Plotkin who produced No Frills.
It's reported that Bruce thought the song was inappropriate for a female singer.  So, he denied its release. Midler replaced the song (on the
album) with a cover of the Stones' "Beast Of Burden".
-  Midler would perform "Pink Cadillac" in concert & a live version of the song was included on her Art Or Bust (1985) VHS & promo CD.
-  Of course, many female singers went on to record "Pink Cadillac".  Natalie Cole's version reached #5 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1988.

   LONE JUSTICE - THE WAY

-  Lone Justice recorded the song for their 1985 self-titled album.  The song was brought to the band by Jimmy Iovine who produced the album.
Apparently, Bruce isn't a fan of "The Way" & wouldn't allow its inclusion on the album.
-  Bruce later released the song (hidden track) on his The Promise (2010) album.

———————————

STEVIE NICKS - BABY, DON'T YOU LOSE HEART

-  Nicks recorded the song for her Rock A Little (1985) album. The song was introduced to Nicks by Jimmy Iovine, who was originally brought
on to produce the album & work on the demo recordings. Iovine parted ways with Nicks midway through the recording sessions.
Apparently, Bruce didn't like the recording & nixed its release.
-  Bruce reworked the song, retitled it "Janey, Don't You Lose Heart" & released it as the B-side to his "I'm Goin' Down" (1985) single.

KIM WILDE - BECAUSE THE NIGHT

-  Wilde recorded "Because The Night" in 1992 to be included on her The Singles Collection 1981-1993 (1993) album. A pre-release sheet was
issued to shops in France that included the track listing (including "Because The Night"), full artwork, UPC code, etc.
However, when the album was released, "Because The Night" was omitted.
-  In 1998, Mike Batt & The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra released Philharmania Vol. 1. The CD includes covers of all time great rock hits.
Mike recruited different vocalists to sing each rock song. Wilde sings "Because The Night".
-  Philharmania Vol. 1 also includes a cover of "Born To Run" sung by Joey Tempest.

———————————

TOM JONES - I WISH I WERE BLIND

-  It's rumored that Jones recorded the song for his The Lead And How To Swing It (1994) album.  The song didn't make the final cut.
-  Jones later recorded/released "The Hitter" on his 24 Hours (2008) album.

———————————

MARC ANTHONY - I'LL STAND BY YOU ALWAYS

-  Springsteen donated the song to fellow Sony artist Marc Anthony.  In late 2001 both Sony and Anthony issued press releases specifically
promoting the Springsteen composition and mentioning it would be one of the tracks on Anthony's forthcoming album Mended (2002).
However, when the album was released, the song was omitted.  It also didn't show up on the special edition of Mended with bonus tracks.
No explanation was ever given for why the song was omitted.
-  Bruce's version later appeared on the Blinded By The Light (2019) soundtrack.

with the understanding they could package & market it as they pleased.  Bullseye decided to add a 3rd disc (Cover Me: A Tribute To
  Bruce Springsteen
), a CD of Bruce covers by artists on their label, just as Good Sounds did in Spain.  However, Springsteen's lawyers
stopped Bullseye from adding the 3rd disc & altering the package, then sent a cease-and-desist letter saying they would not approve
a license for mechanical royalties for the new cover songs (all already recorded with finished artwork). After a year long battle with
Springsteen's lawyers, Bullseye gave up on releasing Light Of Day (+ the bonus disc).
-  Moe Leeson included "Cover Me" on her Reel Masters: The Moest Coverage (2011) album and Songs In The Key Of Moe (2013) album.

PAUL JOST - BORN TO RUN REIMAGINED
      Thunder Road
      Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out
      Night / Backstreets
      Born To Run
      She's The One
      Meeting Across The River
      Jungleland

-  A jazz interpretation of the Born To Run album?!
In preparation for the May 29, 2015 Exit O Jazz Festival show, organizer Michael Kline commissioned jazz vocalist Paul Jost to headline the
Festival performing the complete Born To Run album. 2015 was the 40th Anniversary release of Born To Run & Kline thought fello NJ artist Mr
Jost would be the perfect man to honor (Reimagine) the album. The performance was a hit. Paul went on to perform Born To Run Reimagined
throughout 2015 & 2016. Paul decided to record the album & on the advice of Toby Scott (Bruce's engineer) he chose to record it live in a club.
So, Paul booked the Bitter End in New York & performed/recorded Born To Run Reimagined on October 18, 2016. Toby Scott mixed the album.
In April 2017, Paul stated that Dot Time Records would be releasing the album.
In July 2017, Paul announced the release date would be October 27, 2017. However, he was considering recording the album in the studio &
releasing a double CD; Born To Run Reimagined - Live & Studio. If so, the release date would be pushed-back.
Even though Paul ultimately did not record Born To Run in the studio, 2017 passed without a sign of the album.
In September 2018, Paul announced that he would be releasing his 2nd solo CD in October & Born To Run Reimagined would be released later.
The album has yet to see the light of day.
-  Fingers crossed Born To Run Reimagined will be released in 2025 in celebration of the 50th Anniversary of Born To Run.
