The Beatles
Yep, The Beatles. THE. They are quite
cool, yes, even though they're from the 60's. I don't like much their early
work, 'cos they sounded too popy back then.. But their late work (starting
from Revolver I think) is really really great.
Supergrass
They are young, they are free, and they
have their teeth (hardly) nice and clean. Three lads, not very old, with
the fastest drummer ever (I think).. They sound like they've just come
out of the 70's, and look like werewolves, but they make the most adorable
music :)
Anouk
I think she's the best singer, such a
voice she has, she rocks! Her first album was sooooo cool, but, umm, her
second album, how can I say that, has a nice wrapping (it has!!)..
Air
Hah, Air.. :) They sound so french, and
make a really relaxing music.. I love it! And listen to this, AIR stands
for: A- Amour ("love" in french), I- Imagination, R- Reve ("dremaing" in
french). I think it's so beautiful :) And their new-old (it has tracks
that were recorded before "Moon Safari") album (although it has only 7
tracks) is really cool!!! And and and, they made an AMAZING soundtrack
to the movie "The virgin suicides", it's really great.
Queen
I think they have a sad story (Freddie's
death), but the band never split up (and even tried lately to earn extra
money on releasing 'Greatest hits 3', an album that has their songs covered
by some current artists... :\). But anyvays, they're a really good band,
and Freddie Mercury and Brian May are great musicians.
K's Choice
Yayks, Sarah sounds scratched!! Hehe..
But really, they are a cool band. They have those cool chords, they are
just cool.. nothing more to say about them.. :P
R.E.M.
Well, I knew their music since I was
a kid (but I didn't know who they were exactly), they own one of my very
favorite songs, "Shiny happy people" and besides, they are cool. Aaaaaand
they donated some tracks to "Man on the moon" soundtrack (and it's really
gut)..
Radiohead
Oh, Radiohead,
Radiohead. The kings of depression. They're cool ;))) Kid A, their 4th-so-anticipated
album is good, oh yeah. Electronic music mostly, differant than the other
albums.
And also, (just
to make everybody jealous) Radiohead were in Tel Aviv for a show on the
7/7/00, and I've had a.. some kind of a paper which let's you (ehm, me)
in.. I don't remember how it's called.. hmm.. maybe.. a
ticket?
Pink Floyd
Well, what can
I say about a wonderful band like Pink Floyd.. I recommand Pulse 1+2 to
any rock lover, and "The Wall" is a masterpiece.. I also see them as revolutionaries,
because of the length of their songs (so far, the maximum I've seen was
more than 20 minutes!!!!).
