Cole Monument
At Fort hill Park, just to the east of the town center stands the Cole Monument. Built in memory of Sir G. Lowry Cole GCB. Building of the monument was started in 1845 and took 12 years to complete. Spiral steps leads you to a viewing platform surrounded in railings were fine views over the town and surrounding countryside can be enjoyed.
The Cole Monument is said to have inspired the irish writer "Oscar Wilde", who attended Portora Royal School here in Enniskilen, to write "The Happy Prince" fairy Tale
