Castle Ruins
The castle here at Greencastle which was built in the mid 13th Century consisted of a rectangular tower, two storeys high with reinforced corners and a thick irregularly shaped curtain wall.Only small pieces of the curtain wall now stand as show in this photo. The castle was further defended by a ditch from where the rock was quarried to build the castle.
