White Park Bay

Co Antrim

EAST SIDE

National Trust Property

The scenic White Park Bay which many agree holds the most beautiful golden beach in the north is located between the towns of Ballycastle and Bushmills. Views seen in these photos are in a easterly direction, with Bull Point, Rathlin Island in the distance. The beach is only excessible by foot from the small carpark.

Remains of an old summer school is to be seen on the way down to the beach.

In this area there is evidence of the manufacturing of axes and arrow head dating back to the neolithic times. Flint in the nearby surrounding limestone rocks made this an ideal place for these settlers to find material for crafting such tools and weapons.

As peaceful as it looks, the tide can be very dangerous due to strong currents. Unfortunally some fatalties have occured in the bay over the years.
