Town Hall
Newry, Co Down-Co Armagh
Designed by William Batt and built in 1893 by the old Newry Town Commissioners.
The Clanrye river is part of the border line between Co Down and Co Armagh. It is said that the Town Hall was built on this river so that it would not be in any one county, as there was a dispute by people of both counties as on which county the hall should be built.
On stepping into the Town Hall a statue of Charles Russell (Baron Russell Of Killowen) greets you on the right.
The Newry Tourist Information Office is in a room to the left.
