 Review Simon's "Sex 101" from Cannes Film
Festival !
I flashed to a movie I was really looking forward to - Daniel Waters' Sex and Death 101. Waters wrote the cult movie Heathers
and this was very much in the same delightful vein. Simon Baker (never better) plays a man about to be married who receives
an e-mail from heaven by mistake. It lists every woman he's ever had sex with and will have sex with. So he dumps the fiancee
and starts working his way through the sure thing names. Only it stops at 101 - with serial killer Death Nell, played by a
voluptuous Winona Ryder. Very funny, with smart, hip dialogue, this one keeps you entertained and guessing and the supporting
cast are fabulous. Not a FrightFest flick per se, but one I know would play well.

Patton Oswalt, the comic actor who appears in the fantasy-tinged independent film Sex and Death 101, told SCI FI Wire that
writer/director Daniel Waters is still seeking a distributor. "I guess he’s going to take it to some film festivals
and show it to distributors," Oswalt said in an interview at WonderCon in San Francisco over the weekend (…). "I hope
it comes out. It was really good. I mean, it's not like anything, so why not put it out there?"

I'm embarrassed to admit that I'm just now getting around to writing thank-you notes to the guests who joined my dinner
table at In Style's Golden Globes viewing party—including Molly Sims, Simon Baker and Joy Bryant—and
suddenly I’m not feeling very witty or clever. (Even after three cups of coffee and a Diet Red Bull, which usually does
the trick.)
Aussie Simon, who managed to predict nearly every single one of the night's winners, spent a commercial break giving
me a geography lesson about boho-chic Byron Bay in Australia (one of my favorite places to go surfing) and threw in a brief
history as well. And let's just say that Joy, who was rocking an edgy black Fendi number, has a serious passion for fashion—I
could've talked with her about clothes and designers all night long.

Who are the hottest guys in television?
If a network has a pilot with a strong male lead this season, chances are they have an offer out to Paul Rudd, Peter Krause,
Jeremy Sisto, Simon Baker or Gabriel Macht.
What the actors have in common is that they're in their 30s, they are good looking, and they are accomplished.
"They have a body of work that proves their ability to be who we want them to be," says Sharon Klein, head of casting at
producer 20th Century Fox TV.
And they all fit the description of the male lead most shows are after, which Klein describes as "32-38, a guy's
guy who is accessible and has good looks.
So far, all have passed on several pilots. But network and studio executives are not deterred.
They've made it an annual ritual to kick off the pilot casting season by reaching out to a group of five to six thirtysomething
actors, mostly guys who have never or rarely done television.
"Once in a while, one or two will shake loose," NBC's head of casting Marc Hirschfeld said. "You don't want to go with
your fourth choice because you were gun-shy about your first three."

Smith back on CTV !
 Smith is back. Following up on the recent landmark deal with Warner Bros. International Television, CTV announced today its
broadband plans for the abbreviated seven-episode season of the critically-acclaimed drama Smith.
Canadians now have the opportunity to see the remaining four, never-seen, action-packed episodes alongside the previously-aired
first three episodes. Episode 1 is currently available on demand on The CTV Broadband Network at CTV.ca and during the next
six weeks, one new episode will be available each Thursday at 12 noon ET - on demand, free and in its entirety. In addition,
on Feb. 15, CTV will release four, 10-minute, audio-based stories (podcasts) created by the producers that conclude any unfinished
story lines.

Hollander's 'Heartland' on TNT !
TNT's "Heartland," a Pittsburgh-set drama pilot about a transplant surgeon played by Treat Williams
, has been given a green light for series production. The show was created by Pittsburgh native David Hollander, executive
producer of CBS's 2001-2004 Pittsburgh-set drama "The Guardian." "Heartland" is expected to premiere next
summer, airing at 10 p.m. Monday after the TNT hit "The Closer."
"Guardian" star Dabney Coleman has a role in the "Heartland" pilot as Williams'
boss. Coleman may or may not appear in subsequent episodes.

again and again... so Sex & The City! Love it! I don't blame Andy for falling for Christian... it's that deadly intelligence
+ looks that's so tempting... And did you know Simon Baker was voted among People Magazine's "50 Most Beautiful People" (2002)?
