NIFT is a premier institute of design, management and technology. Setup in 1986 under the aegis of the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India NIFT has played a major role in shaping the fashion and apparel industry. NIFT Hyderabad was established in the year 1995.

Effective from 2003, the new batch of students at NIFT Hyderabad will get a new curriculum. The new set of fresh and young talent at the Institute will receive their university education in a 16-year (10+2+4) format, which is in keeping with international university fashion education formats.
