Fashion Designing is a three years course, covering the following:

I. Skill and design related courses
Pattern making; Draping; Garment construction; Grading; Fabric studies; Textile design techniques; Surface ormentation; Yarn craft; Basic design; Design concept and methodology; Model drawing; Sketching; Fashion Art; CAD/ CAM.

II. Liberal Arts/ Related areas
History of Indian costumes; History of western costumes; History of Indian textiles; Art appreciation; Elements of textiles; Elements of fashion; Survey of apparel production; Survey of apparel merchandising.

III. Research and practical training
(Documentation and presentation.) Craft study and documentation; Industrial internship; Design collection with art portfolio.

Design collection: The final semester students of FD express their individual creativity through this collection which is shown in a fashion show at the end of the final term.
