Hello,
I am sending this out to De's fans and friends to ask you to consider sending me via email your reminiscences for inclusion in my new book "THE ENDURUING LEGACY OF DeFOREST KELLEY: ACTOR, HEALER, FRIEND", a second edition.
I have received so many wonderful Kelley stories for the first edition from his friends and fans that I would like others to have the opportunity,too, to contribute your memories! This way De's newest fans (the ones who came to him after his convention days were over or after he passed away in 1999) and those who never met him will have all of our memories to show them why he was, and remains, so dearly loved. These editions will be our gift to them from those of us who knew him or met him and were blessed by him or simply just inspired by him...
If you entered the profession you are now in as the result of De's portrayal as Dr McCoy, please be sure to make that known in your essay!
Please forward this to everyone you know who is a TREK or De fan and have them forward it on to their De/TREK friends so we can reach as many fans as possible with this opportunity!
Email your submissions to KRISTINEMSMITH@MSN.COM and be sure to write at the bottom "This submission is freely given to Kris Smith for inclusion in her book, the working title: THE ENDURING LEGACY OF DeFOREST KELLEY, ACTOR, HEALER, FRIEND" (Second Edition). Then date and "sign" (type your name on the line next to the date) the contribution's gifting statement.
Please Note: There will be no payment of any kind for your contributions, but you will retain all rights to publish your memories again in other formats. I will use them only once for this volume. I will edit any stories you send and will send you the final version of your story for your approval if you do elect to contribute. (The editing is free!)
Please limit your stories to 1,200 words. If you must exceed that limit, email me first and tell me why.

P.S. You don't have to have actually met De in order to contribute, although I know a lot of you have. Whatever effects De or his portrayals or interviews have left on your heart can be cited.
