TELEPHONE COMPANY PLANS OGDEN DUNES EXCHANGE
Harry R. Ball, manager of the Northwestern Indiana Telephone company, announces that the company will establish an exchange at Ogden Dunes, with a day and night operator, a room having been built at the home of Chief of Police Mayhew to accommodate the exchange.

Ogden Dunes is situated about halfway between Chesterton and Gary, a little too far from each, according to Mr. Ball. Requests for service from a number of residents in that vicinity have led to the establishment of the new exchange.

Plenty of Material for Lawns
At last the most serious obstacle in the development of the "City Beautiful" has been overcome. There is now plenty of black dirt of the best kind for sale to those who desire to make lawns. The supply will probably keep up all summer.

All the spring, it was nearly impossible to get dirt with which to cover the sand. This is changed, and there is no longer a good excuse for any property owner continuing to allow his place to be a nuisance to all his neighbors, who are trying to do their part in making Gary a place fit for human habitation.
