He measured in at 17.2 hands (tape) and approximately 1255 lbs (tape). </b></div> <bR> <div> <B>Three Weeks Later...</b></div> <bR> <div> <B>Dear Monty is gaining weight rapidly.  Originally he taped at 1250 ...the tape only goes to 1330 and the darn thing no longer fits around him.  He is no longer on bute and is moving around so much better!  He has been started on on the epsm diet with help from a veterinarian, and the changes in him are dramatic! </b></div> <bR> <div> <B>He will allow myself to pick his hoofs out as well (when he came here he could NOT balance on 3 legs whatsoever).</b></div> <bR> <div> <B>We have now started him on a light "work program" as per my vet and Dr. V. (walking on lunge line) and he is now a happy camper..even whinning to the other horses..</b></div> <bR> <div> <B>Yes, it has been expensive to help this gentle giant, and I will NEVER regret it for a moment...and yes..we will rescue one more draft..OMG..i think i need more land!
