RCI2950 Modifications
Expanding Coverage
1. Disconnect the power to the radio and anything else connected to the radio.
2. Remove the case from the radio and look for a small board with some jumpers on it behind the front panal.
3. Remove the jumper from pins P3and P4 of J4 and place the jumper on pins P1 and P2.
4. Press the CPU reset button located underneath J2.
The coverage of the radio will now be 26-32mhz, although the VCO may need adjusting.
Midband Channel Readout
1. Disconnect the power to the radio and anything else connected to the radio.
2. Remove the case from the radio and look for a small board with some jumpers on it behind the front panal.
3. Remove the jumper from pins P1 and P2 of J1 and place the jumper on pins P2 and P3.
4. Press the CPU reset button located underneath J2.
Pressing the lock button will put the radio into midband (26.965-27.405mhz) with 1-40 readout. Pressing the lock button again will put the radio into normal mode.
