Drybrushing
Drybrushing is the simplest form of weathering there is. It involves taking a stiff, flat headed brush and putting a TINY amount of paint on the tip and then rubbing it on an old piece of news paper until it is virtually dry. Then drag it over the desired area and it will highlight any raised detail. You can achieve super realistic guns like Francois Verlinden does by doing the following. Paint the weapon Flat Black first, and let this dry thoroughly. Next, drybrush a metallic paint (Testors Met. Aluminum is perfect) over it heavily to leave the black in the crevices. Voila! You’re done. |
