This diary, in the theme of one of Leonardo's most brilliant performances, Jim Carroll in The Basketball Diaries was written to, or for Leonardo DiCaprio.

Dear Diary,
I found my way into a purple chatroom today with an image of Titanic (that disintegrated.) I talked to Leonardo's friends for my first time. Actually I felt alive then. It was exciting and it wasn't easy. This special place is still a secret really. Just glad I could come in before this star is discovered.....as with the first time I saw Leonardo. I knew what would happen, he shined, shined, shined.
But maybe this is a cooling process and I can be a part of a more calm climate of his life. That this phenomenon that has touched me, will continue to directly. Watching his movies are like home movies...at the same age now (24) I experience similar settings and everything within his films reflect aspects of my life lived at that time.
The Basketball Diaries.... I was writing poetry, getting high, left home.
Total Eclipse... I was writing more poetry and trying to revolutionize the future of that art.
Marvin's Room I moved to Florida with my family, realized I shouldn't "burn down the house." Went to Disneyland for my first time.
Romeo+Juliet.. I discovered my love of creating artwork with the help of Mexican primitive sculpture and altars, as well as finding my favorite painter, Frida Kahlo.
Titanic.... I went to a college set in a historic castle that resembled the interior of the Titanic.
The Man in the Iron Mask...I got acquainted with St. Augustine, the oldest city in the United States with it's brick roads, horse drawn carriages, historic architecture and military re-inactments.
Celebrity.... I started exhibiting painting and selling books of poetry, got some recognition which was a wierd experience.
The Beach.... I lived on an island in Florida with my family, then I moved to a new place with different people, different "customs..." looking for paradise......
Finding a scrap of paper with Leonardo on it.....

Dear Diary,
A few years ago I bought a small record, a 7", called "Martin Scorcese" by the band King Missle.... I thought it was the funniest song. King Missle writes humorous poetry-like lyrics and sings in a spoken word kind of way...they are very avant-guarde and some lyrics include....
"Martin Scorcese is the best f***ing director in the whole world! I love him! I want scratch his eyes out! He is so good at making movies! I want to kill him, he is so cool!!" and it continues about how Scorcese was so great that it made the singer nuts.
I no longer have the record but I have the memory. Maybe Scorcese is the best director in the world at this time? Maybe his movies are the best? I think Gangs of New York will be a very special addition to the Scorcese vision, the miracle movies that makes people go nuts....in a creative way.
Music can't hurt you. Movies can't hurt you.
Art is a dream world made of freedom....a Dream Land...

Dear Diary,
Life in the Capulet Mansion- a diary of Juliet.
I am surrounded by colorful paintings, of my own creation which makes
me
happy, but am lonely. When I walk the streets of Verona it is so hot
and
violence surrounds me, I have to be so careful. The boys flock
together in
fancy cars- "Shining Nights" of clubs are out there to visit, but I
have seen
so many of those scenes.
So I have spent a lot of time in the mansion just thinking. I have a
antique
leather journal from Italy, with the sacred heart on the cover, I write
in it
in red pen. That is my true friend.
I also have a little kitty, I
guess
I'll call her a "Capulet," and she squeaks.
I seek comfort in Romeo. He is hope I have found in this world. I see
myself in him, full of life yet kind. I wait by a ceramic altar of
angels.
And in my sleep at night he sees me at my night. But the garden walls
are
much steeper here and the mansion has grown older. I hope he can climb
it
someday.
