I have an XY stepper motor controller design that is ideal for anyone contemplating controlling a video camera or telescope from a PC or PDA. More details soon..

Well It is finished, and quite a little beauty - extremely simple 8 bit controller design for inexpensive $13 unipolar motors. Low current, High accuracy, Optical limit sensing, Variable acceleration/torque, and very Simple to interface via TTL RS232 or I2C. Would make an ideal project for any beginners. I intend to use this in combination with an optical mouse chip that incorporates a tiny CMOS camera that I hope will be sensitive enough to track a pattern of starlight collected by my finderscope It probably won't work but who knows until you try, maybe some liquid nitrogen would help?
