The Cuba Poster Project (CPP) is dedicated to documenting and disseminating the poster art of
postrevolutionary Cuba. The CPP has completed photodocumentation of one of the smaller
Cuban publishers, OSPAAAL (Organization in Solidarity with the People of Asia, Africa, and
Latin America), and is in the process of doing the same for Editora Politica (the
publishing department of the Cuban Communist Party). In addition to shooting slides, the
CPP is also researching background information and cataloging the materials. An electronic
archive is in progress. The CPP fought for, and won, the right to a specific license from
the U.S. Treasury Department for travel to Cuba for the purpose of pursuing this work.
Cuba Poster Project co-directors are Dan Walsh and Lincoln Cushing. Special thanks to
Michael Rossman.
As a fundraiser for the project, several of the images are
available as notecards, posters and t-shirts.
