*** My OutLook 2000 problem ***

(On Gateway with Windows 98SE and MS small Bus. office)

*** ALWAYS note what You are altering, deleting or UnChecking !! ***


Problem = OUTLook 2000 displays Splash screen but never Opens
		into program and No error msg's.
	  End task does not even say NOT responding.
	[ OutLook Express works Fine = NO problems ]

CAUSE =	???,  But Microsoft Lady said got another same one b4 Me. 

I suspected ICQ chat and it's plugins = I unInstalled it.

Solution = 1.	Cleanly Un/Reinstalled Outlook 2x and sm. Office 2x
			No help = same.
	   2.	using Explorer, I went to folder 
		[ c/program files/microsoft office/office and 
		clicked on "Outlook.exe" directly = Nada
	   3.	I checked -- Open any folder then click 
View/Folder Options/File Types tab/Outlook Bar Shorcuts/Edit/Action/Open/Edit
should exactly display in Application to preform action, the following =    
"c:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\OUTLOOK.EXE" /s "%1"
[MY = use dde = was/is still NOT checked & was NOT the problem]


I called MS Help and MS Lady said $35. and to check/Do the following.
[4. to 8. = after reboot = Same Hangup at splash, BUT send/receive worked on 8. ? tho]


	4.  Start/Find/Files and Folders  and search for ("if found")
		and rename the following to .xxx  extensions and reboot.

		ext.dat  outcmd.dat  frm.dat  cache.dat  [tested = NO Help!]
	5.  Tried OutLook's Tools/Accounts/properties [for each multi accounts, except one]
		and unchecked "Include this account when receiving mail or synchronizing"
	5a. Tried turned off All accounts and Made [checked= Include] a new account
		[I used exact info/settings from another account = Ugh!]

	6.  Start/Run/Browse/c/program files/microsoft office/office/Outlook.exe
		[Look Familiar ??? it should then show this exactly 
		(with Quotes!) in Run's Open path]
		"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\Outlook.exe"
	6a. Now ADD space/safe  [should look like the following]
		"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\Outlook.exe" /safe
	    [Click OK] and VaLa ! My Outlook open but with NO Frills = Yeah !
	7.  In Outlook's  Tools/Options/Other/Advanced Options/
		Uncheck Any/ALL in Add-In Manager, then OK
		Delete ANYTHING in Com Add-Ins... [Reboot = Same = UGH!]
	8.  Start/Run change Open ending to space/cleanprofile [see next]
		"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\Outlook.exe" cleanprofile
			[Reboot = Same = Ugh Ugh !!]
	9.  Do 8. again and with Office CD in player go to Outlook's
		Help/Detect and repair

	9a.  VaLaaaaa !!! I think I rebooted and ALL was well and I sent a letter
		to Her Managers and said, she was an asset to Thier Company.
