The Nevada Desert Cactus Society was formed in 1996, in Las Vegas, Nevada by Justin B. Spiegel to promote the conservation, preservation, cultivation, propagation and education of cacti and other succulents in the Nevada Desert Region. The Nevada Desert Cactus Society is one of the very few C&S societies in the Las Vegas area. The Nevada Desert Cactus Society draws most of its members from Las Vegas, Henderson, and other areas of the Las Vegas Valley. All cactus and succulent enthusiasts are welcome. The Nevada Desert Cactus Society also provides a monthly newsletter, the High Desert Cactus, containing information on our society and interesting articles relating to the subject of cacti and succulents in the Nevada desert region.
Our society currently includes about 5 members. We have monthly meetings on Saturday at 1:00 pm on the second week of the every month. The membership fee is currently $20 per year. This fee incluldes the usage of all society facilities and the material and the subscribtion to the monthly newsletter. If you would like additional information please send for a leaflet.
