Police looking for suspect in theft of officer's cruiser

Authorities are still looking for a handcuffed suspect who stole a police cruiser while Phoenix police officers investigated another vehicle theft.
Police said they handcuffed Angela Enas, 32, and placed her in the back of the vehicle near 45th Avenue and Osborn Road on Sunday while officers waited to question her about the other theft. But somehow, she managed to get into the driver's seat of a patrol car.
It was unclear whether the officer left keys in the ignition, or if the cruiser's rear door was ajar. When closed, the back doors of a police vehicle can only be opened from the outside.
The patrol car was found abandoned and undamaged several blocks away, but Enas was gone.
Lt. Charlie Consolian said it's not uncommon for officers to leave their idling patrol cars unattended, but the theft "certainly was a surprise."
Anyone with information is asked to call Phoenix police at (602) 262-6141.
