The 2011 Young bird season is over. William announced that
this was probably his last season with us for a while and then proceeded to put it on us. Leaving an impression we won’t
soon forget. He won 9 of 14 club races and took every other club award for the season. Average
speed “A”, “B” and overall, Master loft “A”, “B” and overall, Loft of year
“A”, “B” and overall and his BC Hen AU 11 SCO 10485 was Champion Bird.
But wait there’s more. He also won 5 of 14 Combine races along with Average Speed “A”, “B”
and overall, Master Loft “B” and overall and hid BC Hen above was Champion Bird of the Combine.
This year we also flew a 3rd race which was
a 2 bird derby. It was released 3o minutes after the B race. William won 3 of the 5 at the Club level and 2 of the 5 at the
Combine level.
Other notes on the season, not to take away from Williams
accomplishments. Mike McKinney won 3 club races and Frank McDonough won 2 regular club races and 2 Derby’s. Frank also
won 1 Combine race and 1 Combine Derby and took “B” series Loft of the Year.
As for the Combine,
Our Junior Member Jeffery Prieboy, in his first season topped the combine on the 3rd race, Tommy Axson won
3 Combine races, John Georgopoulos won 2 Combine races, Jefferies Dad Jeff won 1 and Rellon Jackson won 1. John Georgopoulos won Master Loft “A” and Overall Loft of the Year honors. Tommy Axson won “A” series Loft of year.
Word is one of Williams younger brothers will be taking
over his team, if he has been paying attention we may be in for big trouble. Hey
William, good luck in your new endeavors, When you get settled back down come on back and whoop us some more.
