Welcome to how Liza DeCredico's Pages Inspired me to search
This page is to share some of the great personal emails and guestbook
messages I get. I created my pages to inspire other's to follow in my
foot steps and start searching for their relatives in other countries.
Sharing how I went about my search helps others and these are some of
the results.
Searching for families of
Lancione
After reading Liza's story of her wonderful and very touching reunion with her family in Italy (if you haven't read it yet, you must!), I began to pursue my own more vigorously. An Italy white pages search through Liza's link yielded a name that I recognized from my family tree and I sent a card to this person in Abruzzo. He in turn gave it to their parish secretary who hand transcribed my Scanno ancestors back to the middle 1600's with an offer to do more later. I can't begin to tell you how thrilled I am to receive all of this. I was able to add another 50 names to my tree and am looking forward to corresponding with all of my cousins. Thanks Liza, Laura Lancione-Bearskin
Searching for families of
Ciappa
Hello, I just wanted to write you a quick note to tell you that I wrote
letters to 28 Ciappa's in Palermo, Italy. I got this idea from your helpful
hints. I have so far received 8 letters. We have not made any clear
connections but they are all very excited and conceder us cousins. It is a
great experience and I thank you for sharing your ideas. Good luck in your
search!

hi LIZA,
I thought your webpage was fabulous ! I actually came across it from
Abruzzo2000.com, but that wasnt a choice on your form.
Anyway, I think it's incredible, all that you have gone through. About a
month ago, it occurred to me that I want to document my family history, and
ask my parents questions about their lives, that I'm sure will come up when
I have children.
Since I am first generation American, Im sure my children will not see the
beautiful Italian culture the way I did through my parents and grandparents,
growing up.
My parents are also from ABRUZZO. My mom from TOcco Da Casauria (PE) and my
dad from Salle (PE). I have been there about 12-13 times. I am 25years old.
My grandparents have all passed away, but part of me wants them to live
forever........I have thought about writing a book, and doing what you have
done........It seems like an extremely time consuming thing to do, but Im
sure it will be worth it in the long run........
Right now I am at work, but I will definately go back to your website to
read your long story about finding family !!
God Bless You for what you are doing !!!!!

Searching for families of
Gualtieri
Hello,
I enjoyed ALL your information and I really think I may be able to search
further for my family roots with all your help. My Great Grandparents left
Pratola, Peligna in 1903 and I do have information on them and their
siblings. But I really would like to know if any relatives are still there.want to know names and dates-what are their occupations, where do they live
I hope to find out soon-with your helpful information. I also do not just
and how did the past generations live. I hope to find out the personal
things-the family things. I will strike gold if any are still there that I
may get to know & have pictures of. Thank you

Hello Liza..
Just a short thank you to let you know that I think you have a site
fantastico. You have done a lot of hard work to get this all together.
Though I am French with ancestors from Normandy, I have a great interest
in Italian culture. I play an accordion, (just button type that is so
popular all over Europe) and most of my songs are Italian, both
classical and traditional.
I live in an area that brought in many Italians from all over Italian
during the 1900. We are manufactures of granite memorials in our town.
With several quarries. Most of the stone work now goes into buildings
and inside homes. But I was lucky to have worked for my dad and others
through the years and see the beautiful carved stones that the Italians
made. We have a cemetery just full of exceptional carving of all kinds.
People come from all over to see the beauty.
Again, my congratulations on such a splendid site that you have put
together, and thank you for sending it into my life.
Regards, Irene Brown

Searching for families of
Castellani & Fabbri Famiglia
Dear Liza,
Thanks to your helpful pages on the internet, I have recently contacted
relatives in Italy. I posted the names of my relatives on your search for
surnames. As I was reading through them, I found an individual from the area
that my grandfather came from. I sent her an email and told her of my
search. At the same time, I sent a letter to a possible cousin with the help
of your web pages. They wrote back to me immediately sending their own
pictures of their beautiful family. The unknown "friend" I had emailed
through your web pages actually called my relatives and gave them my email
address. We are now sending emails almost on a daily basis! I am hoping
that next year I will actually be able to travel to Italy to meet my long
lost cousins! Thank you.

Thank you Liza for the oppotunity you have given to those of us who perhaps
may not have any other way of finding lost relatives or perhaps they even

Searching for families of
DellaPietra
Liza,
Spent more time than planned visiting and reading your site. I was unable to
sign up in the guestbook. How else might I list surnames of relatives
originating in Lanciano, Province of Chieti? Our family has names and dates
into the 1860's but it is a limited listing. Appreciate your devotion to
the Italian family and its history.
Thanks.
