Pharlap was one of our most famous racehorses, he went to the US in the 30's and died over there, was said to be poisoned.  Pharlap was stuffed and mounted in our museum in Melbourne.  Pharlap's heart was huge and is preserved in another museum, it weighs about 10 kgs hence the saying "A heart the size of Pharlap"
