Battered Reasoning (Part 2)
You ask me if I still love you
As the blood runs down my face
A new wound, soon another scar
What happened to the flowers and lace?
You ask me if I still love you
As I lay here on the ground
Standing there hand raised high
Rist clenched ready to pound
You ask me if I still love you
But how can I answer you clearly?
The hate swells deep within,
to think I thought of you dearly
You ask if I still love you
But I haven't the guts to say
I have more fear now than ever before
I prayed for the strength to get away
You ask me if I love you
I can honestly say no,
it seems I won't have to stay
I have the self esteem to get up and go.
