INFORMATION ON TRANSPORTATION OF BODY OR ASHES TO POLAND

For transportation to Poland of remains (body or ashes) of persons who died in the U.K. a permission issued by the local authorities (URZAD WOJEWODZKI) is required. Such permission may be obtained by applying directly to the relevant authorities in Poland (depending on the intended place of burial), through family in Poland or through a funeral parlour. It should be delivered to the Consulate General, if convenient by post, telex or fax. On receipt of above mentioned permission and the documents listed below the Consulate General will seal the container and will issue a permission for transportation and burial of the remains, to be submitted to the Polish Customs Office.

The consular fee in both cases is £42.00.
