Pada 18/08/99 spesimen air kencing Anwar dikirim untuk di analisis oleh makmal di Melbourne, Australia. Laporan patologi menunjukkan bahawa tahap racun arsenik ialah 230 ug/g creatinin berbanding dengan kadar biasa 3 ug/g.
Sejak sebelum ditangkap pada 20 September 1998, kami mengesyaki bahawa beliau akan dianiayai, diracun atau didera. Andaian tersebut terbukti benar manakala beliau dipukul dan didera oleh bekas KPN, Tan Sri Rahim tatkala didalam tahanan dan dibiarkan terlantar beberapa hari tanpa dibenarkan mendapat rawatan doktor.
Sekarang terdapat maklumat bahawa beliau telah diracun dan keadaan beliau mengalami keracunan serius.
Beliau mesti diberi rawatan segera sementara siasatan bebas dimulakan untuk
mengetahui punca keracunan. Dari awal kami telah menegaskan wujudnya
konspirasi diperingkat tertinggi untuk melenyapkan pengaruh politik.
Tetapi kami pada mulanya tidak menduga mereka sanggup melakukan jenayah keji
sedemikian.

On 18/08/99 Anwar’s urine specimen was sent for analysis to a laboratory in Melbourne, Australia. The pathologist’s report shows that the level of arsenic poisoning is 230 ug/g creatinin compared to the normal level of 3 ug/g creatinin.
Since before his arrest on 20 September 1998, we have suspected that he will be harmed, poisoned and tortured. This suspicion was proven true when he was assaulted and tortured by the former IGP, Tan Sri Rahim Noor, while under detention and he was left on his own for several days and refused medical attention.
Now we have information that he was poisoned and his condition is serious.
He must be given immediate treatment while independent investigations are
commenced to determine the source of the poisoning. From the beginning we
have seen the existence of a conspiracy at the highest level to silence his
influence in politics. However, we at the beginning never expected that
they would go this far to commit such a criminal act.
