ABOUT THE NATIONAL GUILD OF HYPNOTISTS (NGH)

The NGH was founded in 1951 and is the oldest and largest hypnosis organization of its kind. Professional membership in the NGH signifies that an individual possesses specific qualifications, agrees to abide by a strict code of ethics, and will pursue continuing education studies for annual recertification. The NGH currently enjoys a membership of approximately 7,000 professional hypnotists world wide and is affiliated with the AFL/CIO OPEIU National Federation of Hypnotists with the goal of promoting and enhancing professionalism and recognition in the field, as was one of the original strengths of unions in the U.S. and Guilds in Europe.

ABOUT US

We began doing business in 1986 and opened the office at our current location in 1992. We have two primary partners and two additional practitioners for whom this is their primary business. We also have three part time practitioners in our office and maintain an extensive list for referral in the metro D.C. and surrounding states area. We provide clinical services, work with local physicians, psychologists, psychiatrists, police departments as well as Olympic and professional athletes and national level political strategists. We also are available for entertainment (stage shows), lectures, group programs and corporate programs. All of our practitioners are NGH certified and have extensive additional and specialty training as well. We are located in Gaithersburg off Frederick Road (route 355) about one mile from Shady Grove Road. By public transportation, we are a very short bus ride from the Shady Grove Metro (subway) station. Many local busses going West and North can be used to reach our location (by Walnut Hill Shopping Center, adjacent to the Chevron gasoline station).

We are also easily accessible by car. From either direction on I-270, take exit (9-A) onto I-370. Stay on I-370 toward the METRO and exit onto ROUTE-355 NORTH (a relatively short distance) toward “Gaithersburg Town Center”. About 50 feet after entering route 355 North (Frederick Road) is a traffic light (at South Westland Drive). After the traffic light is the beginning of Walnut Hill Shopping Center (on your right). At the end of the shopping center is North Westland Drive (there are signs for 7 -Eleven and Penn Auto). You can turn right onto North Westland Drive, then right again and park in the shopping center parking lot. However, the correct parking for us is immediately after the Chevron gasoline station (past N. Westland Dr.), turn right into the parking lot for The Goodwill Retail Outlet and Bare Bones restaurant (which is the back of our building). The building may be entered from either side (two floors up if entering from the back, one floor up if entering from N. Westland Dr.) to suite 303. It is an all brick building with "Montgomery Insurance and Bonding" lettered on the front and a Chiropractor on the lower floor in the rear.

To return to I-270, there is an on-ramp to I-370 (and then to I-270, both directions) about 1 mile from our location on the south-going side of route 355 (approximately across from where you entered onto route 355 from I-270 when coming to our facility). The easiest (and safest) way to get onto the south-going side of route 355 is to go through the Walnut Hill Shopping Center, exiting on it's south side (South Westland Drive) to the traffic light. Make a left onto route 355 and then (a short distance) exit right onto I-370 which will take you to I-270 (toward Frederick or toward D.C.). If parked in the correct parking lot, there is an entrance to North Westland Drive at the rear of the Goodwill Retail Outlet, then drive through the Walnut Hill shopping center to South Westland Drive.
