Everywhere
That was the way it went for the next couple of decades, until Angelus
got tired of Dru, and ran off to Budapest with Darla.
I took Angelus's place in Dru's life after that. I was much better
for her than that bloke, anyway. I took her to the Boxer Rebellion,
to cheer her up. You'd be amazed at what a little blood and gore
will do for the constitution.
I killed my first Slayer there. God, it was great. Best orgasm I ever had. It was an intense fight, but as you can see, I came out on the winning side. She was a feisty thing. I love Slayers…so much fun to break. Me and Dru had a great time back then. Oh, she did get…distracted from time to time. Would get into heat over some demon or vampire. That's why I couldn't let myself love her too much. I knew that she'd only break my heart if I lost myself in her. I would leave her for awhile, and then come back on the scene when I knew she would be ready for me.
Around the turn of the century, Dru has a vision that Angel had got
back his soul, and was destined to help humans. My sire…helping mortals?
My mind revolted at the thought. And I had to console Drusilla for
days afterwards. We had other stuff to think about, though, I mean,
a lot happened in the 20th century…Woodstock, punk rock…me and Dru had
a blast. Until we decided to go to bloody Prague.
Prague 1997
I didn't keep a good enough eye on Dru in Prague. She hatched some cockeyed plan to clean out an entire day care center full of kids. Obviously, Dru had never heard of Jenny Craig. The parents found her there and gathered a mob to kill her. After a whole night of searching the city, I finally found her lying helpless, thoroughly beaten, on a side street. Luckily, I got there in time. It was almost daybreak, and she could've…but I did get there.
I vowed then that I would never leave her again. No one
knows how to take care of my pet like me. She's been much more caring
towards me now, since her accident, and so I think she realizes how much
we belong together as well. I decided to take her to Sunnydale.
A long trip, but it's worth it. They've got a strong Hellmouth there,
and a worthy Slayer that I can play with while Dru is healing. I'm
watching her sleep now, my kitten, curled up by my side with Miss Edith.
Look at
the way she lays there, pale and lifeless…almost like a corpse.
God damn it…I really am love's bitch.
