MUTANT X EPISODE PENNED BY FREDDIE PRINZE, JR. SET TO AIR IN NATIONAL SYNDICATION THE WEEK OF APRIL 21

Los Angeles, April 16, 2003 – Freddie Prinze, Jr., the star of such box-office hits as Scooby-Doo, She’s All That and I Know What You Did Last Summer, has written an episode of Tribune Entertainment’s popular syndicated action drama MUTANT X entitled One Step Closer.

Prinze told TV Guide that he packed the script with "all the lines I've ever wanted to say in a movie but never had the chance. My dialogue is sweet."

The 27 year-old movie star, confident that viewers will like the episode, said, "people don't think I can construct a sentence, let alone write a script."

One Step Closer, Prinze’s first produced script, centers on the kidnapping of a prominent senator’s daughter who is grabbed by thugs when the amazing electrical powers of Mutant X team member Brennan mysteriously fail.

"This [writing] is what I want to do. I'm going to stop acting in the next few years because it's just too weird. You have to constantly be willing to live in a scary, emotional place, which is why actors are in therapy all the time."
