Personal Statement
Background.
I am a well groomed man that has been brought up within a strong and stable family environment, living most of my life in the Wairarapa. I grew up with 3 sisters, 1 older and 2 younger. Whilst having lived overseas twice for a period of 3 years (Australia) and then 8 months (U.K.), I have also experienced many other countries and cultures during a family holiday and personal OE, which I believe has broadened my perspectives and widened my understanding and appreciation of many aspects of life in general. I am very interested in sports and coaching as a way for meeting people, and try to encourage others involved in those activities that I also pursue.
Today.
I am married to Jennifer. We have been married a very happy 4 years, living initially in Masterton and then moving to Hamilton for three years before moving to our current home in Palmerston North. Jennifer is a qualified pharmacist having completed her training in Dunedin at Otago University.
I would describe myself as primarily a thoughtful and reflective person who listens carefully and responsively to others before giving my own opinion. I have a very open and honest personality and have strong commitment to standards. I am honest and trustworthy, and strive for excellence in any task undertaken, meeting the responsibilities for which I have made myself accountable.
Since graduating from Palmerston North College of Education I have taught in 3 different schools. I have gained experience in teaching a wide variety of class levels and experienced different school management systems. I have continued to develop my own management style when given opportunities in all 4 schools.
