Last summer my grandma passed away. For me, that's very important, beloved person. She just lived next
to my home, so I always went there to play when I was small. Every time when I left, she must wave her hand
and said, "No matter what happened, you must be polite to others." That's her usual words. It was deep in my
head and I do that so natural. My grandma was always the most eager one to read my monthly drawing in Winkup. And at last, when she was in hospital, she said, "I want to watch Shingo's drawing!" My father tried his best to find out the most updated Winkup all around but failed, at last, she cannot read that one. That's grandma's last request. At that time, I was in Aomori for my train drawing. I was drawing the most central part of "dream" under the roof. At that time, I though about my grandma. "Grandma said that she likes my drawing, so I must can do it well!" Later, when I asked about grandma's pass away time, that's actually at same time.At next day, I finished the drawing and shooting, when the plane arrived at airport, I made a phone call to home, my father said, "Please come home directly." Actually I think that's strange, but I don't have a question, just went home directly. When I arrived, all family members just like usual, but I could feel something wrong though the air. That's not usual, I got down mood at once. Then my father said, "Grandma was gone already!" At that time, I just thought, "Ah! That's actually what I thought." We haven't been to grandma's home for very long time. Just a bit before Grandma passed away, my family members included my dog Apple went to Grandma's home. At that time, grandma was just back from hospital. We can saw from grandma's face that she was very ill that's the level she must stay in hospital, but she said that she want to go back to home and strong requested to leave the hospital. At that time, when I leave, I said, "Please go to my concert, that must be happy, so you must come!" and grandma promised to come and said, "Yes, please reserve a seat for me!" and that's the last sentence between grandma and me. At the last concert at Yokohama Stadium that grandma promised to come,I reserved a seat for grandma. I have told grandfa to come with a picture of grandma. About this, all of us kept it in mind. But that's a seat empty, so other audience just sat on there or put something on the seat.So,my family members told them, "This seat is reserve for a very important person, so please let it empty!" At the beginning of the concert, I just thought, "Grandma, come and see me!" So I paid attention to the seat, grandma was really sat at there! That's really grandma! Sat just like usual and looked at this side! All people around were just moving for support. But grandma just sat there and didn't move, so that attracted my eyes. I can't understand well at that time, I think that's just image! So I watched that side once more, that's really grandma there!Then, I can't control my tears any more! I just cried and cried, but that's my solo part! On the screen, that's me, singing with crying face, I was shocked and cannot move any more! But I thought,grandma really come and see me, I must do my best, began to walk and sang until the end of the song, then all lightings gone out... |
