Thom was on the official message board today, "probably well change as the tour goes on. its possible we might have two supports. it depends on logistics in the tent. im trying to keep an open mind, see who can fit in where. doesnt help much does it? sigur sent me their album which is really great. theres lots of other possibilities though. are we spreading ourselves a little thin? im surprised about how much im getting to like the broadcast album. its really growing on me. but we want to ask a load of electro people as well. no names really yet."

The Jonny & Colin interview took place today at 2 pm ET on Radio 3FM. They confirmed a tour date at Goffertpark in Nijmegen, Holland on 15th of September. Tickets will be on sale tomorrow at www.teather.nl. More info from the interview: the band are going to choose the tracks to the new album from about 40 they recorded and they will be choosing between 7 titles. Nigel Godrich (producer) is still finishing mixing. Colin described the new record as "dark" and said "if you like 'Exit Music', 'Talk Show Host' and 'Airbag', you will like the new album because it's got songs similar to those. And also some experimentation with electronic music as well."

As for the tours, Jonny said that they are bringing along their own tent because they don't want to play in big venues that are designed for sport and have adverts all over the place. And as for why they are not playing Pinkpop, Colin said that they played Glastonbury before the release of OK Computer and don't want to play big festivals before the release of the album this time. The transcript of the whole interview will be up soon.

While Jonny and Colin were doing an interview in Netherlands, Phil and Ed were in Madrid giving a press conference. They said that for the first time ever they included a string orchestra (Dollars & Cents, How To Disappear..) and an eight piece brass ensemble for the purposes of not repeating themselves. Ed said one of the main surprises of the new album will be that until now the band had a noticeably direct sound, but in this case, they also worked with synthesizers, so the sound has evolved.
You can find out more about this press conference and read some quotes at Indyrock and get the website translated by Babelfish.

The tickets for the September dates in France went on sale this morning at fnac.com. The price for one ticket is 275 Francs (= $38 US, 26 British Pounds). Starting on the 29th, you can also purchase them by phone.

Future dates in Europe for September and early October will be announced in the next few days. The rest of the tickets for the Autumn Tour will probably go on sale in the next couple weeks. The band will be playing in their own tent which holds around 10,000 people per night.

There is an article in the new issue of Catalyst by Holly Slingsby about the new Radiohead tunes. Here's a bit: "I heard the recording of the string sections for two tracks, 'Dollars and Cents' and 'How to Disappear Completely', one of which is inspired by Egyptian writing. The score for the 24-piece string orchestra was played the Orchestra of St. John's Smith Square, who have a residency in Oxford, and written by the one and only Johnny Greenwood (with newly cropped hair)." According to French Radio Station 'Oui FM', Radiohead will be playing two shows on September 19th and 20th in a tent similar to a circus big-top, which is supposedly to be built just for the shows. The gigs will be near the Stade de France, in St. Denis; a city very close to Paris. Tickets are going to be on sale tomorrow (25th) at www.fnac.com and at other sellers on the 29th. This has not been confirmed by the band.

Apparently W.A.S.T.E. kept a limited number of tickets for the
European shows despite some of them being sold out. They are now available
to buy online. There are rules, however. To summarize:

1. You can only buy 4 tickets per transaction.
2. Each credit card number will be allowed through once.
3. Each page times out after 4 minutes - meaning the tickets go back to
the pool of tickets after this time.

You can read the above in detail and purchase your tickets at
www.radiohead.com/ticketshop.html. There are tickets on sale for the gigs
in France (13, 14, 17, 30 June), Spain (15 June), Greece (25, 26, 27 June)
and Germany (3, 4 July). Tickets for the shows in Italy and Israel will be
added later today. ( Thanks Beryl )
