Half
past seven
There you go, walking down the street,
Looking a little upset with the weather, but still so sweet.
I wonder where you’re going, what your day holds in store,
And I envy the people who will see your smile, like I did before.
Some nights I lie back and gaze into your eyes,
Then I drift into a dream, oblivious as time flies.
It’s easy to get lost when dreams flirt with reality,
Especially easy, when you’re next to me.
I wonder what you look like when you’re asleep,
What thoughts you have, what secrets you keep.
It’s been so long since I saw you last,
So much longer with days that don’t count themselves fast.
You seem to be in a hurry. Are you late?
Off to an appointment, or a meeting with fate?
It’s not been even a minute, and you’re fast disappearing,
I hope it’s not because of me that you’re leaving.
I say a silent goodbye, as the light turns to green,
And hope that one day, you’ll tell me where you’ve been.
