Route 82 Road Cut -- Haddam, CT

Exit 8 off of Route 7 in Haddam Ct has a road cut that get's plenty of ice.

Directions:

From Providence, take I-95 south to Route 9 N. Take Route 9 north to exit 7. Go east on route 82 and go past the roadcut on the right (yes that's it, but you can't park at the base, park at the top). Take a right when the road T's, Saybrook R. then take the first right and then the next right. Go past the "Road Closed" sign and park at the top of the road cut.

A classic new england road cut that get's covered with ice. The only time I've been there the State Police had just kicked everyone off of it. Depending on which State Trooper is on duty it's either OK to climb there or not.

Unnamed, NEI3+, I-3, a curved road cut around 30 ft high with lots of easy ice to climb. The base of the climb looks to be around 10 - 15 ft from the road.,
