Kung si Claudine Barretto ang nasunod ikinasal na sana sila ni Rico Yan nung siya ay edad 20, tatlong taon na ang nakakaraan.
"Buti hindi natuloy because I was not emotionally stable at the time. I am not yet ready now pero, pinag-usapan na namin ni Rico na if ever magpapakasal kami, siguro when I reach the age of 27.
Talagang handang handa na kami by this time, emotionally and financially," sabi ng magandang aktres nang humarap sa press recently para ianunsyo ang kanyang pinakabagong serye na ilalabas ng ABS-CBN, kapalit ng Sa’n Ka Man Naroroon. Ito ang Sa Dulo ng Walang Hanggan supported by six of the country’s young actors, Bernard Palanca, Carlos Agassi, Luis Alandy, Troy Montero, John Lloyd Cruz at Victor Neri.
Bakit hindi nakasama si Rico Yan?
"Mayro’n kaming gagawing movie together to be directed by Lauren Dyoogi," was her answer sa tanong na ito.
"Weird ang relasyon namin ni Rico dahil hindi kami nag-aaway, kung sakali man, nagkakatampuhan lang pero, hindi seryoso and we patch it up easily.
"It’s not true na ako lang ang nagluluto para sa amin, magaling din magluto si Rico like kare-kare and many other hard to cook dishes. Me, I cook pasta, Japanese and Filipino dishes. But if we feel like eating out, lumalabas kami pero this is seldom. Hindi ako mahilig lumabas ng bahay. I have had my share of going out, pinagdaanan ko pati yung natsismis na pagpunta-punta ko sa mga bars nun," she informs.
For someone who admits to being close to her family, sinabi ni Claudine na "I have always dreamt of living alone, independently. Ayaw ng parents ko nung una dahil bunso nga naman ako. Mom had me when she was already past 40. Akala nila hindi ko kaya but I showed them. Now I don’t only live alone, I also handle my own money pero I consult them, I ask them kung paano ko ito iiinvest.
"I have a very affectionate family, they always hug and kiss, even the male members. Sometimes when I sleep in my parents house, sa gitna pa rin ng mom and dad ko ako natutulog."
Hindi ba nakakaistorbo ang relationship nila ni Rico sa kanyang career and vice versa?
"Hindi naman. Never. I think time management lang ang kailangan and I seem to have mastered this. Imagine I still have the time to take care of my nieces and nephews."
Wala ba siyang balak magtayo ng business, like Rico? Or even, invest in his Orbitz business?
"Wala. Kaya ko lang gawin ay yung weekly expenses ko. Tama nang si Rico na lang ang sa business, me I will continue acting. I love acting, maliit pa lang akong bata maarte na ako. While the other kids are watching cartoons, ako nanonood na ng Tagalog movies. Rico believes in putting up a business, I believe in investing," she ends. *****
