Fan Art

Yes, LoveQuest is a powerful muse that has encouraged several talented artists to put their pencils to their paper (or their hands to their mouses) and produce fan art to prove their devotion. They all deserve cookies, don't you think? Anyway, here's the result of their tireless efforts all in the name of Kamishibai fandom.

1. Please, please PLEASE save your fan art in either JPG or GIF format. A lot of these were originally in the BMP format. I understand that BMP retains the most data of the two, but there's two reasons why I don't post them in BMP form. First, they are really big. It's not so much space I'm worried about but the loading time. Second, BMP can't be viewed on all browsers, like Netscape, since Microsoft owns the format. While I can convert to GIF pretty well, my compression to the JPG format really, really bites, so be warned-if I compress them, they might not look as good.

2. Make sure you tell me what you want to be credited as.

3. Send it to me! When sending it, make sure you send it as an attachment, not embedded into the e-mail. Embedded pictures don't work on AOL unless sent by an AOL user, and pictures sent via AOL's program lose a lot of image quality.

4.NEW POLICY. I hate to burst anyone's bubble, but if you're going to send me fanart, don't hack somebody else's artwork to make it. I received a submission recently that was simply an edit of a picture IN THIS GALLERY. I realize not everyone is an artist, but stealing somebody else's work does not count as a substitute. Editing something like an anime picture is fine, but if a person has drawn their own fan or original work, don't steal it from them. I won't put it up.

5.NEW POLICY. This gallery only accepts LOVEQUEST fanart. If I can't even recognize the subject as a character from LoveQuest, I can't include it in the gallery. There are plenty of other art galleries across the web that will take art of other characters, so please send your art to one of those if it is not themed on LoveQuest.
