Relic Hunter Recipes
When Sydney, Nigel and Stuey managed to get into a world-famous cooking school, they faced one of the strictest chefs on the planet! His grizly snarl and harsh orders were enough to make anyone shiver in their boots- he even woke our favourite heroes up extra early so they could get a head-start on their dough-making and vegetable chopping! But in the very words of this French food-master-
"LET'S GET COOKING!"
Note: All the recipes that have been chosen, have been selected because they are cheap and easy to make!
Stuey's Chocolate Cupcakes
Ingredients
115 grams / 4 oz of butter
115 grams / 4 oz of sugar
2 eggs
25 grams / 1 oz of cocoa
1 teaspoon of baking powder
140 grams / 5 oz of flour
115 grams / 4 oz of raisins (optional)
55 grams / 2 oz of chopped walnuts (optional)
1. Preheat the oven to 200°C, 390°F or gas mark 5½.
2. Cream the butter and sugar together in a large bowl.
3. Add the eggs and beat lightly.
4. Add the sifted cocoa, flour, baking powder and walnuts and raisins and mix well to combine. Spoon into patty cups or greased patty tins.
5. Bake for 10 to 15 minutes.
(Makes 20)
The 'Zoo' Drink From 'Transformation'
Ingredients
12 oz orange juice concentrate, frozen
12 oz grape juice, white, bottle
2 litre 7-Up
1pt sherbet, lemon or lime
Green food coloring
Green Liquorice Strings
Method
1. Mix together orange juice concentrate, white grape juice, 7-Up, lemon or lime sherbet, and several drops of green food colouring.
2. Hang green liquorice strings over the edge of the glass.
Nigel's English Tea Scones
Ingredients
2 cups white flour
1/2 cup white sugar
1/4 cup shortening ( I use margarine)
4 teaspoons baking powder
salt
1/2 cup raisins
2 eggs
1/4 cup milk
Method
1. Mix shortening and sugar, then add flour, baking powder, salt and eggs. Mix well adding milk. Then stir in raisins. Cut into twelve scones.
2. Bake 425 oven 10 to 15 minutes.
Claudia's Low-Fat Berry Beverage
Ingredients
1 cup strawberries, fresh
1/2 cup raspberries, fresh
1/4 cup blueberries, fresh
3/4 cup frozen apple juice concentrate
1-2/3 cups carbonated water, chilled
Ice cubes
Method
1. In blender container combine berries and apple juice concentrate.
2. Cover and blend until smooth.
3. Pour into pitcher and slowly stir in carbonated water.
4. Pour over ice cubes or Berry Ice Cubes in tall, chilled glasses. Serve immediately.
Sydney's Sweet Cheeks
Ingredients
2 1/2 cups plain flour
3 teasp baking powder
1/2 teasp bi-carb soda
1/2 cup bran cereal
1 cup raisins - chopped
1/3 cup firmly packed brown sugar 1/2 cup walnuts - chopped
1 cup milk
2 eggs
1/3 cup honey
2 tablesp melted butter
Method
1. Mix together flour, baking powder, soda, bran, raisins, sugar and nuts. Combine milk, eggs, honey and butter.
2. Stir into dry ingredients and beat until smooth.
3. Pour batter into greased baking tin (preferably round!).
4. Bake in moderate oven approx. I hour or until done when tested.
5. Cut in half and serve warm on a plate (With some chocolate spread- Big joke! Honestly!)
