A Bug's Life Game by THQ Reviewed by Adrock gbcam@hotmail.com Size: 8 megabits Save: Password Released: 1998 Works with: All Gameboy versions **************************************************************************** Opening Snide Remarks: Never seen the movie. Played a friend's pak. On Game Boy Color, there is some additional FMV-style motions in the game, but you won't find these on a regular Game Boy. **************************************************************************** Gameplay Descripion: The motion during play is... pretty good. It's not really anything new. It's not horribly fun, either. Just another one of your common platform games. Seemed to have scrolling problems. Liked: Pretty good motion of play. Hated: Nothing new or fun. It's average play. **************************************************************************** Graphics Description: Tiertex helped this game with some extra FMV stuff for Game Boy Color. It looks awesome, my jaw dropped open. But, it doesn't help the game's look any. It doesn't do that FMV stuff on regular Game Boys, either. The Super GB frame is pretty cool. Liked: Jaw droppin FMV stuff. Hated: When playing the game, graphics aren't as good. **************************************************************************** Sound/Music Description: I liked the music pretty well. It sounds better than most games. The sound FX are also pretty good. Liked: Good songs. I like the title screen song. Hated: Nothing in particular... some FX don't match what's happening on-screen. **************************************************************************** Play Control/Game Design: I thought the controls were pretty average. The character moves a little even when you let go of the pad. Jumping is more like hopping. Liked: Umm... Hated: Work needs done! **************************************************************************** Improve: Concentrate on the gameplay some more, and not FMV. RIYL: The movie. **************************************************************************** Final Words: It's an OK game for kids. Or fans of the movie. **************************************************************************** Score Gameplay: *** Graphics: **** Sound/Music: **** Play Control/Game Design: *** Personal Opinion: *** Total: 17 Final Score: %68 **************************************************************************** Currently Known Codes: BL26-start at the 2nd level.
