Super Castlevania IV Game by Konami Reviewed by Robby Cox koi@magicnet.net Save: Password Released: 1991 Works with: N/A **************************************************************************** Opening Snide Remarks: I was always a big fan of the Castlevania series. I had heard that this was a classic, so I thought that I would give this game a shot. **************************************************************************** Gameplay Description: If you've played any other Castlevania game, then you know what to expect. It's more of the same classic Konami goodness. This game is a treat for Castlevania veterans. Liked: More Castlevania goodness. Hated: It's really not that much different from the previous games. **************************************************************************** Graphics Description: SCIV looks great. The SNES graphics are much more detailed than the 8-bit NES could ever handle. This game doesn't look as good as the PSX SOTN, but it's not that much of a step down. The graphics are hyper-detailed 2-D sprites. Liked: Great graphics. Hated: Nothing. **************************************************************************** Sound/Music Description: SCIV sounds like a classic horror movie. The creepy organ music fits this game perfectly. The sound fx are really good, as well. Liked: Great music. Hated: Nothing. **************************************************************************** Play Control/Game Design: SCIV controls nicely. The controls are easy to grasp and are very responsive. The game design is good, but I wish that this game was a little more different from the prior versions. Liked: Perfect controls. Hated: Nothing. **************************************************************************** Improve: Nothing. RIYL: Castlevania, Castlevania II: Simon's Quest, Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse. **************************************************************************** Final Words: Super Castlevania IV is an absolute classic. Every SNES owner should own a copy of this game. If you don't already have this game, go buy it. **************************************************************************** Score Gameplay: **** Graphics: *** Sound/Music: **** Play Control/Game Design: **** Personal Opinion: **** Total: 19 out of 25 Final Score: 76 % **************************************************************************** Currently Known Codes: None.
