Chameleon Twist Game by Sunsoft Reviewed by Robby Cox koi@magicnet.net Save: On Cartridge Released: 1997 Works with: Rumble Pak **************************************************************************** Opening Snide Remarks: A platform game where the main character is a dude who uses his tongue to do all kinds of cool stuff. Count me in. **************************************************************************** Gameplay Descripion: Chameleon Twist is a platform game. You have to jump across crevices and such, but the tongue plays a bigger part. You can use your tongue to grab enemies and then shoot them out, grab poles to pull yourself across pits, and use it to swivel yourself to another platform. It's very unique and very well-done. The camera angles are a hassle, though. Liked: Unique gameplay. Hated: Camera angles that get in the way.. **************************************************************************** Graphics Description: The graphics found in Chameleon Twist are very nice. They're really good for a first-gen game. The main character is plain and small but the backgrounds are really nice. Liked: Cool backgrounds. Hated: Your character is small and ugly. **************************************************************************** Sound/Music Description: The music of Chameleon Twist is pretty good. It's got a pop feel to it. The sound fx are pretty much what you'd expect from a platform game. Liked: Good music. Hated: Nothing. **************************************************************************** Play Control/Game Design: Chameleon Twist has some great controls. They're very responsive and thanks to the analog stick, they do exactly what you want. The game design is good, but the game's a little too short. There's also some bad camera angles. Liked: Perfect control. Hated: Nothing. **************************************************************************** Improve: Customizable camera angles. RIYL: Banjo-Kazooie, Super Mario 64 **************************************************************************** Final Words: With a sequel on the way, Chameleon Twist should be pretty cheap if you can find it. It's a great game that's definitely a step in the right direction. It's a very unique and excellent platformer. **************************************************************************** Score Gameplay: **** Graphics: *** Sound/Music: *** Play Control/Game Design: **** Personal Opinion: **** Total: 18 out of 25 Final Score: % **************************************************************************** Currently Known Codes: None.
