Opening Remarks: I have never been a very big fan of Die Hard 2.
I loved the original Die Hard and my whole family loves Die Hard
With A Vengeance. But Die Hard 2 still seems like the weak link
in the series to me.

Movie Quality: Die Hard 2: Die Harder is an above average action
film, but compared to the original Die Hard or DHWAV, this movie
is rather lackluster. The original Die Hard took place in an
office building, the 3rd film took place basically in a taxi cab,
but this movie takes place in an airport and on the runway and at
a house near the airport and elsewhere. This film just seems more
schizophrenic than the others. Die Hard features some excellent
actors, but they're just not that impressive. There are fine
performances by Bruce Willis, William Sadler, and Bonnie Bedelia.
Dennis Franz pops up and basically plays a more annyoing
character than he does on NYPD Blue. John Amos has a nice
supporting role, as well. There are also some early performances
from a strong group of actors who portray the movie's thugs. They
include John Leguizamo, Robert Patrick, Tom Verica, and Vondie
Curtis-Hall. All in all, Die Hard 2 just doesn't stack up well
against the classic first and third installments.

Video Quality: Fox does a very nice job with the video. The disc
is dual layered so that a higher bit rate can be used, which in
turn produces a higher quality picture. Overall, the video looks
really nice.

Sound Quality: Die Hard 2 sounds awesome. The music sounds great
and the explosions really go BOOM!!!. The dialogue is mixed so
that it is clearly heard and understood even over explosions.

Extras: Again Fox disappoints here. The only extras on this disc
are the original theatrical trailers of all 3 Die Hard films and
a behind the scenes featurette. That's all.

Improve: More Extras.
RIYL: Die Hard, Die Hard With A Vengeance, Mercury Rising,
Armageddon.

Overall Opinion: Die Hard 2: Die Harder is a good disc of a good
movie. The movie is flawed, but this disc is by far the best way
to see this movie. If you aren't a fan of the Die Hard series,
you probably should give it a rent first.
