Opening Remarks: Die Hard is one of my favorite movies of all
time. I'm a big Bruce Willis fan, as well. When Fox announced
that they were finally giving the Die Hard series the DVD
treatment, I knew I had to buy mine.

Movie Quality: Die Hard is an absolute classic. Period. This is
an amazing movie and this was the first movie that made me feel
like I was on a rollercoaster. This movie will grab you and not
let you go. Bruce Willis plays a cop who gets stuck in an hostage
situation in his wife's office building on Christmas Eve. You
will learn to love Bruce Willis as he just absolutely nails his
role as John McClane. Alan Rickman is excellent as Hans the
kidnapper. Reginald Veljohnson(Carl on Family Matters) is really
given a chance to shine and he makes a return appearance in Die
Hard 2. Overall, you should definitely own a copy of this movie.

Video Quality: Die Hard looks great. The video is crystal clear
and is only presented in it's original Widescreen theatrical
aspect of 2.35:1. This is an excellent decision. The disc is dual
layered, which means that this disc can have higher bit rates
than most DVDs, which in turn means that this disc looks better
than most discs. This disc looks amazing for an 11 year old
movie.

Sound Quality: Die Hard has some amazing sound. Fox went back and
remastered the original film's sound to Dolby Digital 5.1 and it
sounds fantastic. The music is clear and is very cool. The
dialogue is mixed just right so that it is very easy to make out.
Nice job, Fox.

Extras: Fox dropped the ball here. This disc dosn't have much in
the way of extras. There are trailers from each of the 3 Die Hard
films and there's also a featurette on the making of this film.
That's it. I understand that Fox remastered the audio and video
of this film, and they look and sound great, but I wish that
there would have been a few more extras.

Improve: More extras.
RIYL: Die Hard 2, Die Hard With a Vengeance, Mercury Rising,
Armageddon.

Overall Opinion: Die Hard is a great disc that's lacking in
extras, but really impresses with the presentation of the film.
If you want the best version of Die Hard available, then look no
further. This disc is well worth your $25, but just don't expect
a Special Edition that's going to keep you entertained for weeks.
