Dragon Lore Game by Mindscape Reviewed by Robby Cox koi@magicnet.net Save: 3DO Internal Memory Released: 1995 Works with: N/A **************************************************************************** Opening Snide Remarks: I really like my 3DO even though 90 % of the games for it are crap. I found this game for 20 bucks and it looked kind of cool, so I bought it. **************************************************************************** Gameplay Descripion: Dragon Lore is a point-and-click adventure game. It has you navigate menus to solve puzzles. The biggest problem with this game is that there's too many menus and commands to have to deal with. Shadowgate Classic has the amount of menus and commands just right. Liked: Fairly logical puzzle solutions. Hated: Too many menus. **************************************************************************** Graphics Description: Dragon Lore comes on 3 CDs so you know that there's gonna be some eye-candy. There's CG movies everywhere. Walk up the steps then cut to a movie. Walk down the steps-cut to a movie. It gets old real quick. The in-game graphics are decent, but they're a step down from the CG movies. Liked: Good-looking CG movies. Hated: Too many CG movies. **************************************************************************** Sound/Music Description: Dragon Lore has some great music. It's classical sounding and fits the game perfectly. The sound fx are good, but the voice samples are horrible. They should sound good coming off of the CD. Liked: Great music. Hated: Horrible voices. **************************************************************************** Play Control/Game Design: Dragon Lore controls pretty well. The commands usually pick themselves when you mvoe over a hot-spot. The game design is okay, but this game would have been a lot better if it had only been on 1 CD. Liked: Good controls. Hated: Poor game design. **************************************************************************** Improve: Shorter quest, better quality voices RIYL: Shadowgate Classic, Myst **************************************************************************** Final Words: Dragon Lore is and average game. I would recommend buying Shadowgate Classic if you want a good point-and-click adventure. **************************************************************************** Score Gameplay: *** Graphics: *** Sound/Music: **** Play Control/Game Design: *** Personal Opinion: *** Total: 16 out of 25 Final Score: 64 % **************************************************************************** Currently Known Codes: None
