Kirby's Dream Land 2 Game by Nintendo Reviewed by Robby Cox koi@magicnet.net Size: Save: Battery (3 save slots) Released: 1995 Works with: all Gameboy versions Opening Snide Remarks: Kirby's Dream Land 2's package looks kind of goofy. I hope after buying this game it's not. I really have little to no knowledge of Kirby. My only experience with Kirby is that I have played Kirby's Avalanche(SNES), and I own Kirby's Star Stacker. Gameplay: This game plays like Mario but a little easier. You can swallow just about every thing on the screen. Kirby can jump and can fly, which would make you think that this game would be super easy. But it's really not. The bosses are somewhat tough. You still have to get from point A to point B. This game is very linear. Graphics: The graphics are excellent. Kirby and his cohorts are very cool to look at. Their appearance is slightly childish though. This game has a pre-selected palette for the Game Boy Color. On a GBC this game looks so good that you would think that this is a GBC only game. Sound: The sound effects are pretty good. They are kind of reminiscent of Mario Land, though. Music: The music is pretty good. It sounds unusual for a platform game. It reminds me of music that would be more at home in a role-playing game. Play Control: The control is excellent, just as you would expect from Nintendo. Only two buttons are used and they are used very effectively. The "A" button makes Kirby jump and the "B" button makes Kirby suck up the enemies and can spit them out. Perfectly done. Final Analysis: This is a great game. Don't let the childish art on the box fool you, this is an excellent game for anybody. If you can't take anymore platform games, try just one more called Kirby's Dream Land 2.
