DuckTales Game by Capcom Reviewed by Robby Cox koi@magicnet.net Size: Save: None Released: 1990 Works with: all Gameboy versions **************************************************************************** Opening Snide Remarks: I thought that DuckTales was a lame Disney cartoon. I hope that this game isn't a lame Disney game. **************************************************************************** Gameplay Descripion: DuckTales is a lame platform game. You have to jump on stuff with your pogo stick. The big problem with this game is that there's some horrible controls and pitiful hit detection. You can sometimes walk across pits and when you jump to a platform and don't make it, you will sometimes stick to the side of them. This is unforgivable!!! Liked: That there's an off switch on my Game Boy Hated: Everything. **************************************************************************** Graphics Description: DuckTales looks okay. It definitely looks like a first gen game. The characters are about medium sized but aren't very detailed. Liked: Nothing. Hated: Everything. **************************************************************************** Sound/Music Description: The music isn't very memorable. The sound fx aren't very good, either. Liked: Nothing. Hated: Everything. **************************************************************************** Play Control/Game Design: The control in DuckTales is okay, but there's a ton of problems in other areas. First off, we've all played a zillion platform games, so you have to do something different to get noticed. The only thing the designers of this game did was make a horrible game. The hit detection sucks, and the game is just horrible. Liked: Nothing. Hated: Everything. **************************************************************************** Improve: Start from scratch and make a better game. RIYL: Serious mental help. **************************************************************************** Final Words: DuckTales is a horrible Game Boy game. I don't have any idea how this game ever sold a million copies. I really bashed "A Bug's Life" when I reviewed it, but it's a hundred times better than this game. Stay away from this game. I only paid 8 bucks for it, but I wish I would have saved my money. **************************************************************************** Score Gameplay: Graphics: * Sound/Music: * Play Control/Game Design: Personal Opinion: Total: 2 out of 25 Final Score: 4 % **************************************************************************** Currently Known Codes: I wish that there was a code that would actually make this game good!!!
