That was several years ago, but how do I feel now? **************************************************************************** Gameplay Description: Flashback is one of those adventure games where you have to use this here and then go here. That would be okay, if the controls weren't so hinky. I also don't like the way that you're just turned loose and you have to figure out what to do and where to go. I would rather just be told what the objectives are and then attempt to do them. This game is super for fans of the genre, but it gets old to me very quickly. Liked: Cool adventure elements. Hated: Stupid controls. **************************************************************************** Graphics Description: Flashback looks great for a Genesis game. The main character's actions look like they have been motion-captured. This looks cool, but causes problems with the controls. The backgrounds and the cinemas look really good. Liked: Good graphics. Hated: Graphics hinder the controls. **************************************************************************** Sound/Music Description: This game sounds pretty good. The music sounds nice, but it repeats ad nauseum. The sound fx are solid and aren't quite annoying. Liked: Cool music. Hated: It gets old after a while. **************************************************************************** Play Control/Game Design: The controls suck! The big problem is that the main character's actions are very life-like, but when he starts to run, he doesn't stop on a dime. The controls are just unforgiving. The game design is okay, but this game is frustration central. Liked: Nothing. Hated: Horrible controls. **************************************************************************** Improve: Fix the controls.(They did this in Out Of This World) RIYL: Out Of This World. **************************************************************************** Final Words: Flashback is a good game for people who don't get frustrated easily and don't mind that there's not a whole lot of action. Think of this as a platform game for Myst fans. **************************************************************************** Score Gameplay: ** Graphics: **** Sound/Music: *** Play Control/Game Design: * Personal Opinion: * Total: 11 out of 25 Final Score: 44 % **************************************************************************** Currently Known Codes: None.
