Gyruss Game by Ultra Games Reviewed by Robby Cox koi@magicnet.net Save: None Released: 1988 Works with: N/A **************************************************************************** Opening Snide Remarks: This was one of my favorite arcade games of all time. I had always wanted a home version of it and this one is basically arcade perfect. **************************************************************************** Gameplay Description: Gyruss is a shooter where you maneuver your space ship in a circle. That's all. The ship can be moved around at the edges of the screen, but that's all. Other ships emerge from the center of the screen to try to destroy you. You of course, need to avoid them while dispatching all of the enemies. This is an extremely fun shooter! Liked: Arcade perfect gameplay. Hated: Nothing. **************************************************************************** Graphics Description: The graphics look exactly like the arcade version did. The ships are 2-D sprites and they're not very detailed, but they get the job done. The graphics aren't what makes this game, it's the amazing gameplay. Liked: Arcade perfect gameplay. Hated: Nothing. **************************************************************************** Sound/Music Description: Gyruss has amazing music. The NES version sounds just as good as the arcade version did. The sound fx are the same, as well. Liked: Amazing music. Hated: Nothing. **************************************************************************** Play Control/Game Design: The controls are perfect. The game design is sweet! This is an amazing game, period! Liked: Perfefct controls. Hated: Nothing. **************************************************************************** Improve: An updated Dreamcast or N64 version would be very cool. RIYL: Raiden series, Starfox series. **************************************************************************** Final Words: Gyruss is my favorite shooter of all times. This is an amazing game. You should buy this game immediately. **************************************************************************** Score Gameplay: ***** Graphics: *** Sound/Music: ***** Play Control/Game Design: ***** Personal Opinion: ***** Total: 23 out of 25 Final Score: 92 % **************************************************************************** Currently Known Codes: None.
