NBA Jam T.E. Game by Acclaim Reviewed by Adrock gbcam@hotmail.com Size: 4 megabits Save: Battery Released: 1995 Works with: Any Game Boy **************************************************************************** Opening Snide Remarks: Do you like to play basketball? Do you like to play arcade games? Then NBA Jam is cool for you. **************************************************************************** Gameplay Descripion: It can be fun to play. There is even a practice mode (don't ask me why.) But without another player, it seems real repetitive and dull. Especially on a Game Boy. Liked: Fun to play, with a practice mode. Hated: Repetitive. **************************************************************************** Graphics Description: It looks pretty good. A lot like the SNES versions. But the ball going in the hoop looks weird. Liked: Retains some of the SNES look. Hated: Some stuff doesn't jive right on Game Boy. **************************************************************************** Sound/Music Description: The songs are kind of weird. You may recognize some tunes from the Super Nintendo hit, but as for most tunes, uninspired. The sound FX are pretty nice, though. Liked: Ok Sound FX and some songs from the SNES game. Hated: Some songs sound booty. **************************************************************************** Play Control/Game Design: Eck. Most of the time, unresponsive. And they made turbo the start button. Select is pause, instead. Eww. Why couldn't they make start be something I don't usually do, like pass? (j/K) Seriously though. This control is boo-boo. Liked: You might catch on after a little while. Hated: Unresponsive. Start is turbo. **************************************************************************** Improve: Work on the control a little bit. I'm waiting to play NBA Jam 99 on Game Boy Color. RIYL: Basketball, or any of the other Jam games, like Hangtime. **************************************************************************** Final Words: Some people may have more luck with this game. Infact I know some of my friends that would love it. It is an OK version, but I'd take the SNES version anyday. **************************************************************************** Score Gameplay: *** Graphics: **** Sound/Music: *** Play Control/Game Design: ** Personal Opinion: *** Total: 15 out of 25 Final Score: %60 **************************************************************************** Currently Known Codes: The following codes must be performed at the Tonight's Match-Up screen.
