Opening Remarks: This was a cool looking movie that I figured would be worth a watch. I figured it was going to be a scary, horror movie. It was a horror movie, but it wasn't very scary.

Movie Quality: JC's Vampires is a pretty cool movie. It's not very scary, though. It's basically a gory action movie. James Woods & Daniel Baldwin play vampire hunters who try to take down the original Master Vampire. The Master Vampire is trying to recover the "Black Cross", which it is believed to allow vampires to live in the sunlight. They hook up with a vampire hooker who has a psychic link with the Master Vampire. They then go on a wild ride to attempt to save the world. If you like action movies, you'll be happy with this film. If you want to be scared, then you should look elsewhere. Overall, this is an enjoyable gory, action movie.

Video Quality: JC's Vampires looks great. This disc features the 2.35:1 Widescreen version and the Fullscreen Pan & Scan version on the same disc. The actual video quality is excellent. This disc look basically as good as most DVDs.

Sound Quality: JC's Vampires sounds great. The music is crystal clear, but the John Carpenter score sounds a little simple to me. It fits the movie pretty well, though. My Dad really liked the music, but I thought it was just okay. The sound fx and dialogue are extremely clear. This is a great sounding disc.

Extras: There aren't many extras on this disc, but the ones that are present are great. There's the original theatrical trailer and a John Carpenter commentary track. The commentary track isn't the best that I've ever heard, but it's a big bonus that it's included. These are great little extras that make this disc worth the 19.99 MSRP.

Improve: A few more extras would have been appreciated.

RIYL: Halloween, Blade, Scream series, Last Summer series.

Overall Opinion: John Capenter's Vampires is a great little disc of a pretty cool movie. This movie is a blast and there are enough extras to make this disc a really cool package. Let me make this clear, there aren't really any scares in this movie, but it is a cool little roller coaster ride. It's not as much fun as the Evil Dead series, but it's almost as gory. Not for the squeamish, but it's bloody good fun :)= (That's supposed to look sorta like a vampire, not a walrus)
