The Lawnmower Man Game by THQ Reviewed by Robby Cox koi@magicnet.net Save: None Released: 1993 Works with: N/A **************************************************************************** Opening Snide Remarks: I bought this game for my cousin for Christmas a few years ago. I have to admit, the only reason that I bought this game is because it was cheap. I also did not care for the movie on which this game is based on. **************************************************************************** Gameplay Descripion: TLM is basically made up of 2 kinds of gameplay-the main game is a run-'n-gun type of game like Contra, the other is a 3-D maze type of game. The run-'n-gun sections are pretty cool. They're actually pretty fun. The 3-D maze sections are ok, but the touchy controls get old quickly. If you make a mistake in this section, you lose a life and have to start over. Overall, this is a decent game. Liked: Decent gameplay. Hated: Touchy controls. **************************************************************************** Graphics Description: The graphics of TLM are excellent. The run-'n-gun sections' graphics are pretty good. They don't look a whole lot better than the original Contra, though. The maze sections' graphics were groundbreaking. It still looks like CG. It's amazing to see these graphics on the SNES. Liked: Maze sections. Hated: Nothing. **************************************************************************** Sound/Music Description: TLM has some decent music. It's pretty much standard videogame music. The sound fx are no better. Liked: Decent music. Hated: Nothing. **************************************************************************** Play Control/Game Design: The controls of TLM are decent. The controls of the maze sections are unresponsive. The game design is okay. Liked: Nothing. Hated: Maze controls. **************************************************************************** Improve: Just start from scratch. RIYL: Contra, Die Hard Trilogy. **************************************************************************** Final Words: The Lawnmower Man is a decent game, but that's all. I wouldn't waste my money unless you are a huge fan of the movie. **************************************************************************** Score Gameplay: ** Graphics: *** Sound/Music: ** Play Control/Game Design: ** Personal Opinion: * Total: 10 out of 25 Final Score: 40 % **************************************************************************** Currently Known Codes: None.
